Sadie Amara Calvano has become popular for her role as Violet Plunkett that she played in the CBS show Mom. Calvano is a Californian who was interested at first in competitive gymnastics. She decided, later on to pursue a career path in acting. Her first screen appearance was the 2010 episode of the CBS show 'NCIS. The big screen debut came a year later in the biographical crime-drama film "J Edgar'. She has become one of today's most promising actors in recent times. For her performance in "NCIS," she received a nomination for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance on a Television Series - Guest Starring Young Actress 11-15 in 2011. The year 2013 saw Calvano named a second time for a Young Artist Award. This time, for her appearance on the Disney XD show 'Kickin It'. Calvano starred in Mom's first three seasons. She also made several guest appearances throughout the fourth. Her performance in the show garnered her the Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Female Actor - Rising Star in the year 2015.
